Little Mix have been declared winners of this year’s X Factor, garnering 52% of the vote!
The teen girl vote proved to be crucial in the deciding vote, the first for a music group rather than a soloist. Jesy said that:
We knew we had a lot of support but we didn’t realise the extent until we went back to our hometowns. It was unbelievable and the nicest thing was that most of our support came from girls and that was just incredible. We are so lucky.
As for the win, the girls nabbed £150,000 worth of an advance with SYCO on a record deal. If you can’t wait for that though, their debut single Cannonball is out this week. Will it be a Christmas number one? Stay tuned (have to admit, we’re going to reserve judgement on this…).
Things aren’t going half bad for their mentor Tulisa either, who’s looking at a £450,000 pay hike for the next season of X Factor. Apparently Tulisa has been making a good impression with the management, as according to a source:
…she sticks to her views. Weaker people might have retracted what she said about Misha B hassling Little mix to keep things upbeat but she didn’t. The producers love her.
It’s also looking good for Marcus Collins, who came in second place. He’s already got a few songs written for an upcoming album, plus the support of Gary Barlow who’s promise to help give Marcus’ career a boost.
