Pete Doherty was said to be so devastated by the passing of his good friend Amy Winehouse that he was left too upset to even pay his last respects. So it would come as no surprise if the somewhat troubled rocker, known for his bad behaviour, drinking and drug taking, were said to be haunted by Amy’s unfortunate demise. However, it’s not the untimely death of his bestie that’s haunting this rock star, it’s Amy herself!
That’s right! Pete Doherty is being haunted by the actual Ghost of Amy Winehouse, and why not eh?! If your best pal didn’t come and say his final fair wells, wouldn’t you haunt him a little bit too? I know I would, even if just for a bit of a laugh. And I’m sure Amy is having a good giggle to herself over this one as she has him so scared he has run off to Paris to get away from her!
Pete Doherty is so convinced he could see ghostly figures in his bedroom and the reflection of Amy in his windows late at night that he is too scared to return to his home in Camden, close to that of Amy where she died in July. I suppose it makes sense, why bother haunting someone else when good ol’ Pete lives just round the corner?!
And I know what you’re thinking: this is Pete Doherty, clearly he’s hallucinating, he must be on drugs as always! But Pete promises he is clean. And why wouldn’t we believe him when it is much more reasonable to believe that he is actually being haunted by the ghost of Amy Winehouse?
In all seriousness though, you have to feel for him a little. Chances are he could be clean and these visions were not drug induced hallucinations but merely the mind of a very upset and troubled man playing tricks with him, a man who clearly needs some help. But who is going to believe that with the reputation he has built for himself.
Or maybe he really is being haunted by the ghost of Amy Winehouse! I suppose we will never know.
