It was the first weekend of live shows for X Factor contestants this weekend, and a whopping 4 contestants saw their dreams being smashed on Sunday night – more about that later.
First off, we need to have a word about some of the fashion choices. I was watching the live performances on Saturday night, not particularly blown away by anyone, but whilst watching Misha B’s rather strange arrangement of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep,” I received a tweet from a friend saying: “Misha B’s effort was pretty good, but whoever dressed her up as a fish supper should be sacked!”
Misha has already said that she feels that being a real pop star is not just about the voice but about the whole package, the attitude and the style. Misha came on stage rather Gaga-esque and wrapped in old newspaper, looking not too dissimilar to an old bag of fish n’ chips. And maybe she is taking a leaf out of the Lady Gaga playbook; after all, who can forget that butcher shop outfit.
Misha was not the only contestant to be sporting the newspaper print look; Kitty Brucknell was also seen in a Gaga-inspired ensemble on the 4th of October for a special X Factor press conference in London. Kitty’s outfit, unlike Mischa’s, was an out and out #fail!
In other news, the four contestants voted off last night to a flood of fake tears and “this was the hardest decision of my life”, were: Jonjo Kerr, James Michael, 2 Shoes and Amelia Lily.
My personal favs so far are, in no particular order, Marcus Collins, Nu-Vibe, Sami Brookes and Sophie Habibis. Who are you pulling for to win X Factor? For that matter, what do you think of the fashion? Tell us in the comments section below.
