The X Factor: Kitty Brucknell is the one to watch

October 4, 2011

Celebrity

No, not because she’s the favourite to win or the favourite for anything else for that matter but because she is MENTAL. Kitty Brucknell joins The X Factor final 16 in the over 25s section and is 100% this year’s most controversial contestant. The 26-year-old from Cheltenham has been attempting to make it into show business for years, impersonating popular female celebrities including Britney Spears and more recently Lady Gaga.

Kitty first wowed the judges during her first audition where she sung an a capella verson of Lady Gaga’s ‘Edge of Glory’. Despite this, she nearly managed to talk herself out of getting through with an overly confident and seemingly arrogant monologue to the audience afterwards. She still received four yeses from the judges, and after her departure they all agreed ‘she was beyond complicated and that they’d hate to be her mentor’. Kitty managed to force her way through to the final 16 and in heat this week you’ll find Kitty Brucknell take her Lady Gaga tribute act to a new level. A four page spread sees Kitty strut her stuff in a Lady Gaga photo shoot.

As the weeks have passed and The X Factor live shows loom closer, it’s becoming more and more evident how ‘unique’ this bleached vixen is. Digital Spy has noted in a post that Kitty has a collection of ‘claims to fame’ and has appeared in a number of documentaries including BBC Three’s 2009 Britney Spears Saved My Life, channel 4′s Wedding House and Sky’s Pineapple Dance Studios. All these point to a potentially annoying and shamelessly arrogant dark side of Kitty.

Kitty appears to be desperate for fame and celebrity status and will do anything for it. She proved this during her boot camp performance which included a fiery yet awkward version of ‘Feeling Good’, accompanied by a jaw-dropping, eye-bulging outfit.  Surprisingly she nearly managed a performance without any outrageousness at the judges house. This was quickly ruined when she decided to leap fully clothed into the pool after it.

Don’t worry, she’s not deluded about any of this either. Kitty seems to know that audiences will either love her or hate her, but what is her message to those ‘haters’? A middle finger and annoying giggle, that’s what.

So, like it or not she’s in the final 16. Stop hating her for her outrageous performances, sheer arrogance and annoyingly overconfident attitude and start enjoying her for what she really is, an absolute bunny boiler.

The live shows of The X Factor start this weekend and I’m looking forward to seeing what craziness she brings to the show. Will you be voting for the nut that is Kitty Brucknell? Let us know what you think of her in the comments section below.

I hate this lady! I don’t know if she’s putting it on just to get attention or if she’s actually just plain crazy. Such a drama queen! I hope she gets booted out in the first show.
