So it’s back! Big Brother returned to our screens last night with the Celebrity Big Brother 2011′s channel 5 launch party. After weeks of rumours surrounding who will be entering the house, which has been promised to be the biggest and best it has ever been, excitement and anticipation has been building for the BIG comeback we’ve all (or at least all who love the world of reality TV) been waiting for!
As the show got underway twitter was alive with speculation as to which of our favourite car crash celebrities would be entering first. Would it be Katie Price? Or the even trashier Pamela Anderson? Or the one we were all hoping to see, Charlie Sheen? Nah…Surely they’ll save the best until last!
But then the line-up was revealed…..
First in Kerry Katona, what a surprise! There isn’t a reality TV show that good ol’ Kerry wouldn’t do for a few bucks so there was no shock to the viewing audience to see Kerry entering the house, nor were we surprised when she told host Brian Dowling “I’m here, I’m changing my life, I’m standing on my own two feet.” Sorry? Is this a Dancing on Ice re-run?
Next to enter Tara Reid, a bit more famous than our Kerry and much more stable of course…ahem. Tara made a disappointing entrance as she tottered across the stage and seemed baffled by the whole experience. Hopefully as one of the more famous housemates she may become more interesting with time.
Then there comes Paddy Doherty, you’d be forgiven for wondering who the hell he is. He’s that guy from My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding. You know, that Gypsy guy? The one with the caravans? Yeah, we don’t know much more about him either but we’re sure he’s bound to bring a certain amount of charm to the house.
Next up was Amy Childs, she was apparently in The Only Way is Essex, and this it seems makes her famous, all we know about her is she likes to Vajazzle….NEXT!
At this point you would think it would have started to get good surely? But then came Darren Lyons, who now? Yes, Darren Lyons…Mr Paparazzi apparently. He once took photos of the rich and famous and now we are told he too is famous. Go figure!
Housemate number 6 we kind of recognised - Sally Bercow, she’s married to the speaker of The House of Commons. She has some brains and I imagine there is no vajazzling in sight! She is the classiest and least dumb of the housemates so far so it looks a little more promising that BB fans may like her.
Lucien Laviscount came next; we don’t know who he is. He is a soap “star” so we’re told…
Following Lucien came Pamela Bach Hasselhof, you can probably figure out who she is from her name. Yes she was once married to David “The Hoff” Hasselhof and has kept her double barrelled surname to ensure we all remember the fact. Thank god, because how else would we know who she is?
Bobby Sabel was the next housemate to enter the house and no we didn’t have a clue either BUT he is very pretty! And good thing too as it turns out he is a model. Who cares who he is really, he is very pretty, very very pretty! We at Gossip Fever like him!
Then came the big climax! Who would be the final housemate? JEDWARD! It’s hard to believe that they could possibly be saving the best until last with these two but with the sorry excuse for a celebrity line up they gave us until now, it was actually exciting to see some familiar (although annoying) faces!
So there you have it! The amazing line up of Celebrity Big Brother 2011! Sensational come back eh? Clearly scraping the barrel a little to find their first round of A-List housemates Big Brother are already hinting at surprise extras entering the house at a later date. Do you think they can sense the disappointment? After this sorry excuse for a celeb mix, it is hard to believe that, whoever they are, they will be able to live up to any hype tabloids manage to muster around their entrance into the house.
What do you think of the new BB line up? Are you as disappointed as the rest of us?
